Come join the Davidson Lands Conservancy on Sunday, April 6th at 2 p.m. to explore one of Davidson’s finest natural areas, the 50+ acre ‘Runneymede Woods’ on the east side of Davidson. This beautiful wooded property with a river running through it was recently conserved in perpetuity by the DLC, and this Sunday’s hike is a rare opportunity to view this property first hand.
This 2 mile hike will be led by naturalist Reed Patterson, and is moderately strenuous. The minimum age for participants is 10, and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This hike is for DLC members only. If you’re not a member, it is easy to join by clicking on the ‘DONATE NOW’ button on our website and making a quick and secure online donation.
Runneymede Woods features hardwood forests, large granite outcroppings, the remains of an old grist mill, and the main branch of the Rocky River. It is easy to see why this land is an important part of our network of preserved properties.
We hope to see you this Sunday at 2 p.m. Please RSVP to our Executive Director Roy Alexander at dlc@davidsonlands.org. Roy will provide attendees with directions to the property.
