Join us for the Davidson Land Conservancy Annual Meeting, Sunday, Nov 2, 2:00 – 5:00 at The Pines at Davidson, 400 Avinger Lane, in Davidson.

Everyone is invited for a lively show on local butterflies presented by Nora Aker, co-owner of All-A-Flutter Butterfly Farm from High Point, NC. Following a brief business session, we will offer guided tours of the 75-acres recently leased to DLC by The Pines for wildlife habitat. The property, partly in Cornelius and in Davidson, is mostly wooded but also features open fields, over 2000 feet of stream frontage on the South Prong of the Rocky River and of the adjoining greenway, as well as the grounds of Chartwell, a private estate on Avinger Lane in Davidson.

During the business meeting, there will be an election of officers for 2015. Proposed candidates are (President) Rob Van Epps, (Vice-President) Clay Furches, (Secretary) Lynn Henderson, (Treasurer) Rodney Graham, (Executive Committee) Hayden Boyd and June Kimmel.

The Davidson Lands Conservancy educates, advocates for, and preserves natural areas and open space in and around Davidson, NC.

“Your local land trust, DLC is a non-governmental non-profit, providing assistance to private landowners, corporations, and government agencies in creating the vital green infrastructure – greenways and park land, local farms and forests, wetlands and wildlife habitat – necessary to assure a healthy community in perpetuity,” stated Roy Alexander, Executive Director of the 14-year old group.
